CGS Ltd. also provides the Seismic Manager for a new African Oil company that has recently gone into partnership with the Ghanaian Govt (GNPC) to search for oil & Gas offshore Ghana. Heliconia Energy Ghana Ltd. (HEGL) is based in Accra, Ghana. and has the rights for 3 years on the Offshore Cape Three points block (OC3P). So far we have reprocessed 264 sq km to PSTM and also reprocessed >1000 km of vintage 2D data. Our plans to record >850 sq km are progressing, with the BGP Pioneer due to start May 2007. We intend to spud the first commitment well in 2008.
From our initial investigation of the block we have identified many leads and prospects in the Upper cretaceous as well as in the tilted fault blocks of the Lower Cretaceous. Many of these show up well on the 2D data, but the grid is too open to map these properly. Hence the requirement of the 3D and PSTM processing afterwards.
It has been our intention to send ALL our seismic for Amplitude Inversion, Coherency and Curvature processing so that before our interpreters start their analysis, they have as much information as is possible at their finger tips. This has been done with SZ3D and some very interesting results have been seen, particularly with the amplitude analysis.
During the period of our exploration we have worked closely with GNPC and have delivered every piece of reprocessed data to them so that they can provide interpretations from the same data, to act as a control to our own ideas, as well as to help us to develop new ideas
