CGS provides an experienced seismic geophysicist for acquisition projects.
On land this involves crew selection and equipment list checking, ready for the ITT, but also someone to go down to the crew at the start up and manage the source tests (both Vibroseis as well as Dynamite) process and evaluate these tests in the field so that the crew has a set of source parameters the day after the final test has been recorded (barring problems) . After the source test have been completed we will also set up the processing flows in the on-crew processing centre using “ProMAX “ or Vista, such that all the daily QC products eg. Pulse tests and Stacked Shot LMO plots, crew brute stacks etc. are ready for when the crew goes into full production
We have done this for well over 20 projects now.
All on crew processing is accomplished using VISTA 2D/3D from Gedco
In marine this sort of service is not usually necessary, and any gun tests are usually handled by the on-board QC. Most QC processes are well handled by the on-board contractor people –BUT if there is a need, this can handled using CGS’ FTP site to transfer the data for analysis and afterwards, comments can be returned by email.
CGS can provide people that we trust to “boat ride” or act as on-crew “QC supervisors”, these positions will be sub-contracted to people we trust, and probably through alliances we have with other companies who specialise in this sort of thing.
